Margot KleinTiessink
studied from 1985 - 1990 at
Minerva Art Academy, Groningen.
She is living and working in Amsterdam.
Margots
work is a fusion of multiple images applied in layers, thus creating a
particular two-dimensional image. It forms an analogy with today’s quantity
of images in our daily lives. The driving force in her work is the desire
for what was, is, and can be. Fiction as memory, memory as fiction. The
material treatment and the colourful depiction generates a fabric feel,
she
experiences that process as fascinating, being able to create an alternative
world.
She
captures time by means of photography; the photos form the basis of her
paintings. This technique, the ability to combine different images in order
to create a new entity, gives her an immense freedom, transforming
the spectator’s view.
